I have never been a fan of the RR Silver Spirit, never liked the looks or the image, always preferred the Silver Shadow.
One thing that I hate about it are those Lucas spotlights with cheap plastic covers. It really spoils the overall view for me.

IMO, the Silver Spirit was too Americanised, the Silver Shadow, was a civilised thug; welcome to all occasions.

I assume this is a new series of the Bangers & Cash Restoration programmes?
Yep.
Damn! Missed it. Is there any way of catching up? Actually, have just seen that it might be on tomorrow at noon. Or that could be a random episode from the past.
I think the repeat will be on Sunday eve?
Looks like it, 10.05pm on Yesterday channel, according to my guide.
Available on catchup anytime (UK TV Play)
Thanks all. I've just found it on Play.

If you have the Sky talkie button thingy, just press it and say "Bangers and Cash".

I'm not sure what happens if you have adult channels or Alexa smile

Was that not a Wraith?
I know as much about RR as I do about the different types of potato.

It will be interesting to see if they have started to learn things and that continues, or, if they just started with a more successful episode!

Hope those two old boys in the garage who do the bikes are properly registered and insured to conduct a business from home like that...I guess they must be though, for the TV company to keep using them. Three grand labour though!
There's always one

No, the Wraith name has been used a few times now, perhaps you’re thinking of the Silver Wraith which was the long wheelbase version of the Shadow. The long wheelbase version of the Spirit was the Silver Spur. Never something I would buy as an Arsenal fan.

Must admit the Rolls Royce did look kind of nice at the end outside the new owner's house, and if you really wanted one, that would be a nice one to go for.

Just cannot ever see it being my cup of tea though, even when I'm proper old and want a big, wafty, lazy and comfortable old smoker. The image of the thing plus the size just does nothing for me.

Used to see Michael Winner sitting in the back of his green one in Sloane Street quite often years ago, maybe that doesn't help.

If I was in need of a big wafty, lazy comfortable old smoker, it would be something like this:

Far nicer IMHO of course. smile

I enjoyed that episode. The Rolls Royce was a really nice example but the colour scheme doesn’t work for me. Much classier in a light metallic with contrasting interior.

OK thanks, just thought that's what they'd called it at one point but my hearing's not good and I don't always follow the subtitles.

To be fair I think they over-restored it, which is why the costs escalated. Doing it like that would be fine if you were going to keep it, but would never see a profit.

Back onto the main show, did anyone share my amazement when that Midnight Blue shed RS2000 with rear quarter damage made £26,250? eek

I couldn't get 10% of that for my straight 1978 Venetian Red one in 1984. cry

That was about 3 or 4 series back....!!

You'll need to go back about 40 pages for the discussion about that laugh

I've just started watching a film I recorded last week called "Mindhorn", and it appears in the start of that, too.

I thought they had learned their lesson when they made the sensible decision not to replace every panel, but to weld it and fill where it’s less important.
Then ‘chuckle Brothers’ still charged them 27 grand!
