I honestly believe that Skyrim was mainly responsible for the arthritis in my thumbs.

It is a magnificent piece of gaming design and thought, one of the best games ever written up there with Half Life 2 and a few others. But on Sony it was slow, was far easier on a PC believe me, I know people who stopped playing it on PS due the the thumb thing, I urged them to buy a PC, but no.

I played hundreds of hours of skyrim on ps3 and then again with skyrim special edition on ps4/pro. I didn't have any mechanical issues during that time. I wasn't aware of anyone who did. Though I can entirely relate to finding it being 2am all of a sudden. I absolutely love just wandering around in that game. I turn off the HUD and just go into sneak and slow walk the entire map to make it feel larger and like real exploration. Never running makes the map feel twice the size. cheers

I'm a nearly 51 year old gamer, various games over the years including Elite Dangerous and WoW ( where I developed a serious habit ). Setup RetroPie the other day on one of spare Raspberry Pies, happy days now revisiting old console games from the 80s and 90s

I can't believe nobody mentioned it so far... Super relaxing and great music.

If you like social military style games (tactical and not twitch shooter) play some Squad (Steam) on a free weekend that they often run. It's the most social PC game with an older player base that I ever found, 1200 hours in that alone!

Mid 50s and been a PC gamer since uni, never really got into consoles despite several attempts over the years.

Got seriously addicted to World of Warcraft at one point, had to go cold turkey on that one.

Prefer more laid back games to shooters, maybe because I’m hopeless at the latter, been playing Civilisation since the original one. I still laugh at an early review that questioned how much longevity it would have.

Got Stray just so I could play as a cat, not finished it yet as I’m hopeless at the more twitchy aspects.

I drop into Elite Dangerous every so often, got trader elite through mining, slowly building up to elite exploration, got the Anaconda and Imperial Clipper, may grind Alliance rep for the Corvette. Like the original you really have to set your own goals and then work on them.

Main timesink is Cities Skyline 1 & 2.

Im the same I prefer a more laid back game that I can go at my pace as im not very good. As for longevity I still dip into The Sims 2, sometimes just building a house or new shop.

Valheim for relaxing / hitting things with a big 2h and Diablo 4 tier 100 nightmare vaults for intensity / hitting things with a big 2h. That does me (age 53) along with GT7 + Asseto Corsa for racing and AoE2 for strategy.

2nd vote for squad, such an amazing game.

In one game you get a squad of Americans who’ll treat the game like they are on a real life operation then the next you’ll get a mad Russian playing Russian techno down the mic while driving a motorbike loaded with explosives towards enemy tanks

It can be as sweaty or relaxing as you want it to be and the battles are usually 2 hours long.

49 soon to be 50 and got into WoW recently as my main gaming PC is dead - whilst I wait for the RMA been grinding it. No idea what I am doing.

Otherwise I have a driving rig for ACC/AMS2 but got bored of that quite quickly. Love a bit of flight SIM and have Star Citizen to start exploring once I get my PC fixed or upgraded.

I play a fair bit of walkabout golf on the Quest 2 with some friends too tho lately they have moved onto other things sadly.

I shouldn't really be speaking with you, as you're too young.

However, if your rig can handle it, AMS2 in VR is absolutely magnificent.

I loved it with my Quest 2. Now I'm using the Quest 3 and the experience is visceral.

Nothing beats blasting around Monza in VR, trying to outbrake an opponent in the first chicane, looking to your right and he's right there!.

It's the best immersive experience that's out there at the moment.
