What a night of fights! The prelims were good as it is.

Kayla Harrison - I don't know much about women's UFC but she was pretty astonishing. I can see her becoming champion in no time.
Ji?í fight was entertaining although I don't fancy his chances against Pereira.

It was a bit annoying that Gaethje got his nose broken in the first round as it affected the pace of the fight. He kept ducking and getting caught by the spinning kick. Max was catching him with the eye pokes and pushing through the leg kicks. The fight ended in such a Gaethje way. With <10 seconds he could have taken the final bell but ended up flat on his face. It was going to be a loss either way.

Zhang - it was amusing how Zhang's opponent was completely out at end of first round and took a few seconds to figure out where she was and what was happening.

Pereira just looked comfortable and did what he's done all along. Not sure why they don't take him to the ground instead of standing and trading. Heavyweight division is another animal and I can see Aspinall ragdolling him if they ever met in the octagon.
No idea how Pereira makes Light Heavy...or how he made middle. Guys a unit isn't he, like the Terminator! Highlight was him waving the ref off before knocking his opponent out!
Apparently his 'walk around' weight is 230, so a heavy cut to 205, and as you say, how the heck did he make 185?

Some cracking fights and well deserved big bonuses.

She looks like she'd put some men (lower ranked) from the Flyweight division away. Only other woman I can remember being scary is Cyborg.

That sort of muscle mass isn't just good diet, good genetics and training hard?

Bit of a freak show laugh

Did he only have to knock one out for it to be declared a KO victory? Apparently they spent most of the fight just running away from him.

I saw a fight with one guy against 2 women. Didn't end well for them!

And Seanchai of course, albeit one after the other over 5 rounds.

In the absence of some MMA, some recent kickboxing & MT (sadly highlights only) people may find fun:

Rodtang vs Puric: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hISY0ar4Eac

Tawanchai vs Nattawut: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKToh_1YoeY

There are rumours Rodtang might go up a weight to make the trilogy with Haggerty, i really hope it happens.

Not necessarily. A school mate powerlifted from the age of 13 and i used to train with him a bit. I can remember us squatting 115 kg in 3rd or 4th year (i'm quite small and he was recovering from a torn hamstring in competition) and a girl in our year came up and asked to have a go. She did it easily, certainly looked easier for her than it felt for me and she was built like Cyborg at that age. There is a huge diversity in human genetics and a wider range of the basic hormones that do that kind of work for us than most realise, definitely not the norm but not abnormal either.
