I was suss it’s a similar setup to Frankie Goes to Hollywood / Trevor Horn – ie, keep the singer but record with session musicians – because the musicianship is too mature / accomplished in a weathered-old-pro-with-a-ciggy-hanging-from-mouth kinda vibe, especially the guitar playing.

Nope, it’s all their own work and they reproduce it live
