Just on Hannah Fry, if anyone hasn't seen it, her BBC Prog on her own cancer is a must watch. Deeply personal, but with the mind of a scientist applied, riveting and thought-provoking viewing.
Sounds like a must watch for me. Thanks.

Also, Hannah Fry gives her Room 101 suggestions to Paul Merton on BB R4. Listened this morning. She is good value.

She’s fabulous. Have listen to Room 101 on BBC Sounds with her and Paul M, very entertaining.

Who do you think cheated? laugh

More seriously, do NO married couples actually try and work through their problems these days? I never see myself getting married. Its just not the commitment it used to be so its irrelevant.

How do you know they didn't try everything possible to work through it?

Eh? confused

You're going to have to explain that one to me.
She's a big cigar aficionado, which I think is gross.

As it happens I was relieved that she was a panellist rather than the host, and she was funny at times too. Hannah Fry was great- intelligent, quick witted, cheeky glint, the works. Lovely.

The Angela Rayner story had moved on a notch or two after they recorded the show, I think?

I also thought it was a pretty good one. As already mentioned, Hislop was sharp as a pin and Merton's joke about the newspaper cutting at the end "I only came in for a haircut" was superb. biggrin

I thought she was terrible. Having to touch Paul's arm after every "joke".

AR and Labour got an easy ride….
So?
There was much more humour/cynicism to be had out of this story.

It’s the whole point of the program…
Given they're still the opposition they got pretty roasted, Ian went on about AR at length. Did you watch the same show as the rest of us?

I'm watching it for the first time (admittedly the "More" version) and I haven't noticed it, even keeping an eye open for it.

Now, perhaps I need to go to Specsavers. However, I did note her delivering a number of jokes without touching his arm. So, on balance, maybe it's not me but you who needs to. wink

She also popped up on Joe Lycett's prog later. She's getting more exposure due to Electoral Dysfunction, I suspect.

tbh I thought she was crap. Her brummie accent irritates the pants off me. Also Jason Manford is too much of a wet blanket to be hosting.

Sounds to me that the latter influences the former. And that she probably couldn't do anything to earn your approval.

I thought her comment near the end about teenage boys having a w**k and then Paul Merton's response were really hilarious. Glenn Moore was quite sharp too.

I haven't sat down to watch it yet, but he was always good value on Mock the Week. I always liked his jokes where he sets up some ridiculous scenario so he can deliver an alliterative wordplay punchline.

A quick google for one that springs to mind is
"Well, coming up now on BBC Two, you can use the red button to choose your daytime show: It's either a travel documentary about alcoholic narcoleptic Rabbis on holiday, or a current affairs and arts programme. It's You Snooze You Lose Booze Cruise For Jews or News And Reviews, you choose"

Ok, not sharp as such as that can be memorised. But I like him.

I should go watch the show now and lay off the Saturday wine.

Earlier yesterday I made some comment on the HIGNFY Facebook page damning Jason Manford with faint praise (I called him "tolerable") and he replied that this was the nicest thing someone had said to him online this week. rofl

(If you work out my FB identity from that then please do not link it here. That would be against a) my wishes and b) the rules of posting)
