By contrast, if you were driving on a road with nobody else present and somehow flipped your car over causing a complete write off, and you lost all your limbs and became paralysed, it would not be classed as an RTC, as there was no other vehicle present.
I don't think that's true.
Many RTCs are single vehicle.
Could you provide a link?
Thanks.
For it to be a reportable RTC it needs to be damage to another vehicle, building, street furniture or CHAMPSDG
Or
Injury to another person (other than the driver of the vehicle crashing).

If you only damage your own car you don't need to report it.
If you're the only injured person you don't have to report it.

For example - you're driving your car down a country road and veer around a black dog, dumping your car in a ditch and cutting your head........unless you hit the dog, you don't have to report the crash to the police.

If it's your dog in your car that gets injured because you crashed, that's not reportable.

OP has managed to do the one thing he's tried to avoid- make himself appear guilty in the eyes of the Police.

Best advice would be to stop acting like a petulant child. If it gets to a Magistrate or a DJ they're not going to be impressed by arguments about stamps and shortage of time.

I strongly suspect that we'll never know the truthful outcome.

Quite the thread, isn't it biggrin
It is, I’ve just added it to my watch list for funsies.
No need once you've replied.
Yes, I know. Thanks for the lesson though.
