Stupid question, hoping people who know their watches will be more clued up than me. I have a tag aquaracer thats 15 years old and been in a drawer for the last few. I'd quite like to wear it again, though it has a metal bracelet strap. Is it possible/sensible to change the strap to something else? I'm thinking leather but I'm not sure how that would look...

Many thanks!

It's pretty easy to change bracelets and straps. They're held on by spring bars. You just need to know the lug spacing and buy a strap the correct width.

If you put a picture up I am sure the strap fans on here will be able to give you some options.

We are shortly going to be a family of Aquaracers. I recently purchased this for my son's 18th in a few days time.

I don't collect watches but I rarely wear this since getting a smart watch a few years ago. Bought it about 15 years ago and wore it daily. Wanted a Bell & Ross Space 3 but there were none to be found so got this instead.

Any ideas what this might be worth? I have the original box and receipt but there aren't many of these for sale to gauge value.

Is it in good working order? Serviced at all?

Do you have an idea what you'd like for it?

Yep it's in fully working order, keeps good time, stays wound up when worn etc. General wear and tear i.e. light blemishes on the shiny bits but the glass is perfect, buttons and crown work.

Not thought about selling yet, just curious as to value.

I would guess £900-1100. But I will clarify, I'm not a dealer, but I'd expect you to be bid something like that from one.

I have that one but with the silver face and blue dials. Absolutely love it, it was my daily for about 10 years too.

This is my series 4000 Tag bought for me by my wife 23 years ago, it may not be particularly valuable but it is one of my most treasured possessions.

My first good watch was a 4000 bi-colour automatic.

Reviving this thread!

Does anyone have any experience living with the current range of Tag offerings 2022-now? I'm thinking of picking up an Aquaracer 200 to mark graduating from a part time degree program I've been studying for the last few years. I'm specifically looking at the quartz chronograph:

I've handled it in person and it's lovely in the metal plus a great fit on me. I'd love to have a curved end link rubber strap though but Tag only offer them on some two-tone three hander Aquaracers- the jeweller thinks it's possible but I'd love to hear if anyone else has tried. Thanks!

My first proper watch. Gift from my partner 16 years ago while I was visiting her in San Francisco.

Knew nothing about watches when purchased but it has huge sentimental value.

I had only owned cheap watches until I bought this in 2006 duty free in St John's, Antigua. There for my niece's wedding, shame the marriage did not last as long as the watch has.frown

Thanks for the tip! I'm still a few months away from graduating so I can't jump on it just yet sadly
