I remember being able to buy a single cigarette and a match for 10p at the corner shop when I was no older than 11. Hard to believe now, really.
Similar, from 'Mum's' corner shop. Allowed to smoke in the 6th form at break time in one spot, outside. Detention otherwise.

Bill and Ben the Flowerpot men????
Remember that sitting in front of a TV with an 8" b/w screen mounted in a huge carpentry box with a huge speaker covered in cloth... eating the special...... toast with golden syrup..... one of the few treats at the grandparents, early 50s.....

That reminds me of one of Mike Harding's gags...

Bill and Ben go into a pub.

Bill says "Flobalob, fobba lobba lob"

Ben says, "No, I'll get these, you're too pissed, they'll not serve you"

New to me but would've wanted one.

Don't remember that cream but it reminds me of what we called shaving foam at school, a kind of mock cream on some puddings. I dread to think what was in it.

Oh yes, it was indeed magical how it went rock hard as soon as it touched the ice cream. I loved it, and would even eat it straight from the bottle if we had run out of ice cream. Happy days!

Freda Lingstrom. the creator of Bill & Ben revealed that she came up with their particular
way of speakiing after bathing her children. No prizes for guessing how the
inspiration came about. Freda wound up getting the OBE.

Currently picking the wife up from a wedding, and I'm here at the point where the old tunes come on. We've just been treated to Reef - Place Your Hands.

Were you even about in the 90s if you don't immediately start singing "It's your letters it's your letters"?

We had a lovely lovely white creamy and sweet thick sauce on some of our school dinner deserts - mentioned it years later to my Aunt who was a dinner lady there. Turned out to be Chantilly Cream........very posh yum

Baby weighing scales in pharmacies.
People would track their kids weight gain on them.
There was a beautiful big one in a shop in Leicester when I worked there in the mid 70s. All polished brass and hardwood with an engraved brass plaque: "Boots weighing machine".
I was asked to leave because I was a juvenile tt (then as now) and took off my safety boots and put them on the scale.

I still enjoy putting cream (whipped or single) or (cold) custard on my icecream and letting it harden
