Seems like I wasted my time swotting up on Donald Trump then?
Apparently "thats not funny" when I tell people I spent a night with Stormy, or ticked making a porno off my bucket list, which is why I'm struggling to walk.
I point out to Mrs B it would explain my very bruised parts... biggrin

Thank you for letting us know, Bobbers.

We wake up on Saturday morning to very sad news passed on by Bobbers. So sorry to hear that one of our residents has passed on. I thought that I should post something more somber today but I am guessing old pequad would want us to continue in the time honour trivial way, so here’s one for him. RIP.

Condolences to Mr P's family, he'll be missed here on PH. I always enjoyed his posts.

That's all for now.

Yes, it is sombre news but he did indeed epitomise the KBO ethos.

I’m off now for ten days on holiday. I decided that I was long overdue to see an old friend (who’s recently been widowed), do the last long stretch of yer actual Route 66 and see the Grand Canyon. So it’s off to Heefrow for me.

I will update you from Triv Towers’ New Mexico ranch when I eventually get there. Y’all didn’t know that TT was similar to Soho House (but for those of riper years, as the Book of Common Prayer has it), did you? There’s a TT (TM) dude ranch just outside Trivsville, NM.

Sadly, the stable complement is a bunch of knackered old donkeys rather than Appaloosas. A bit like us, really.

Good morning everyone. A grey rainy sad day here. Hopefully it won’t get as bad as when the lower part of our commune was severely flooded a couple of weeks back.

Not a lot going on here today due to the wet stuff but yesterday was productive in the veg plot with all the spuds banked up and ten(10) Tommy plants planted.

Fout.

I’m off to the museum today to assist visitors in enjoying their day.

Yesterday we test drove one of those Mini Countryman PHEVs. 1.5 3 cyl engine supported by electric motors on the rear wheels. Very sprightly is was too with 221 bhp. Instant throttle response and regenerative braking to recharge the battery but a plug-in giving 30 odd miles of electric driving. Impressed we were. The one we drove didn’t have some of the options we want and is well overpriced so we wouldn’t go for that one but we are toying with the idea of changing the Karoq.

The dealer was a multi franchise Kia, Hyundai, BYD, Peugeot and had so many electric cars on the forecourt which they say are just not selling. I have to say that that BYDs (Build Your Dream) Seal looked lovely, very reminiscent of the Tesla Model S.

I was impressed by the BYD model 3 equivalent at the farnborough motor show last year. Nice build quality, good drive, range, well packed with features and under £40k.

Things are moving on

Just been out for a 15 mins slow walk. Mrs B had Asha and has continued in as I short cut home. Beautiful here so wanted a little exercise.

That's enough for the moment. Have to be careful as I can feel stuff pulling.

Still...

Heat the spark plug with a lighter first.

You’re welcome.
Gas Mark 5 for 20 mins works so much better. (I'm.actually serious)
It ain’t a fecking pork chop!
Do you want it to start?

The words of my mate Dave (ex Austin Rover Longbridge Engine Development Engineer), when I phoned him.one Sunday afternoon, having spent all of Saturday replacing the cylinder head on my 847 cc mini and failing to get it to start, when he tells me to put the spark plug in the oven, and he'll be round. Never question the wisdom of experience.
It started first time.
He then adjusted the points, the timing and the carbs, such that the fuel consumption went down by 10 mpg

Mind you having valves that actually sealed to the valve seat might have helped too.

Good morrow fellow Trivialities everywherewavey
We both managed a good night's sleep, so much so that Mrs Bobbers got up at 0700 and I just went back to sleep, only awakening at 1000!!

Today I will leave the house for the first time since last Sunday, we're off to do the fruit and veg shopping and are going out for lunch!!

I will pass on everyone's condolences to peqoud's sister via his phone, hopefully his family will know how much he meant to us here at the Towers.

Psi310398, have a fantastic time on Route 66 with your friend.

Magoo, fingers crossed it's not as bad as last time.

Hammo19, that Snoopy is perfect thank you.

Byker, go steady my friend, don't push yourself too much.

I've been meaning to say that it's nice to see a few old faces pop back in, White Stiletto, fatboy18, and Pit Pony.

How are you doing fatboy18? I know you said things were difficult after losing Dodge.

HAPPY STAR WARS DAY, everyone! ears

May the Fourth be with you all!

Thankyou for the cheery Snoopy reminder, Hammo.
I'm sure Old Pequod would heartily approve.
In the spirit of "KBO".

IOTN, A grey and damp start has brightend slightly and started to dry out here oop norf. So I shall shortly venture out for walkies again.
I managed a decent 3.5 miles (estimated) yesterday afternoob with EB & FrankieDoggie and got back home just as the rain started. Perfect timing! bowtie

Well done Magoo for tending your plot: It's better than vegetating, to be sure.
We should all be looking after our vegetables, as I'm sure Byker will attest.
Nobody likes bruised plums... except wasps! yikes

Take good care of yourselves and have a good day doing whatever pleases you...

Hey!!! Stop that!!!
You dirty boy! nono

I'm just catching up with events, and was deeply saddened to read of Pequod's departure. Like others, I got the impression from his recent posts that all was not well, but it's still a shock, nevertheless.

Didn't Barnfind depart recently? If so, I hope that they're up there somewhere, patrolling the perimeter.

We should organise a cull of rattus rattuses (rattusi? ratti?) in his memory. He'll be missed. Farewell, old chap. KBO.

ION, just in case some of us down here in Trivton-sur-Mer were hoping to catch up on the sleep that was rudely taken from us by the apocalyptic funder an lightnin' overnight on Wednesday, Messrs Cunard held a very noisy firework display to celebrate the inaugural sailing of their new cruise ship during the late evening yesterday, so thanks for that. Oddly, the ship has sailed orf into the wild blue yonder without a nofficial naming ceremony. They usually get a major Royal to waste a bottle of champers, and this will apparently happen early next month, in Liverpool. The Senior Royal assigned to the task has yet to be named, so perhaps they're all busy, hence the delay. I seem to recall that we had a ship naming down here a few years ago, with none other than Amanda Holden doing the honours, but I'm not sure that she actually counts as a "major royal".

I might have a short afternoon nap, but I expect we'll get a display by the Red Arrows, or a full-on invasion rehearsal to rudely awaken me.

I might give it a go. What's the worst that could happen?
