Someone needs to tell Sargeant that Americans are strictly forbidden from calling people "mate".

In my old rugby club, we had a vary fast wing who only had one run in him each half. Ricciardo reminds me of him.

That’s got to sting a bit for Dan.

I don't even know how Ricciardo was so off the pace then

Urgh...

I've never been so perplexed by an F1 driver.

Zhou, Sainz and CLC investigated for crossing the pit exit line. Is that three places? Hope for Merc.

<clip> As for Brundle blaming Lewis at the first corner... Looked like Stroll caused all that but cutting across Alonso, just Alonso being clever and trying to blame Hamilton rather than his teammate.
Certainly appeared to me that Stroll smacked into Alonso which shoved him into Lewis. My houghts are that without Stroll on his left Alonso and Lewis would have cleared each other.

Norris lap deleted. Is that the 1.27.871?

LH pulled one out of the bag there. Can he do it again?

Gasly now to be investigated. There will be two grids. Might liven things, if drivers are out of place.

I can't help but think Max's setup being a bit marginal for quali suggests he's going to be stupidly fast in terms of race pace..

Also not sure how Lewis is doing what he's doing in that POS car.

It's so random he'll probably be 10th now.

Stroll out qualifies Alonso second time this weekend, not sure the Aston Martin upgrade is quite what they were hoping for at the moment, that being said hard to get the setup right at a sprint weekend.

In this era it's arguably better to sacrifice quali pace for race pace. But that's a fine balance and if you get it wrong, you can be miles off in quali.

Probably didn't help getting the car bashed up in Sprint race.

It's like there are two different batches of tyres in the pool.

True it looked like Aston just about got both cars out of the garage for Q1.

nah, would never happen, would make a mockery of the idea this is a sport.
